Christians: why do many over proselytize?

Ok so, one never knows what the response will be; but if someone does not want to get involved or has a different opinion, why not just leave well enough alone and move on to one of the over 6 billion people in the world who just may be interested in talking? Why not just leave it in His good hands and not worry?
