Irritation due to slobber on my babies cheeks, chin, and hands...?

My baby is 6 months old and has been drooling a lot lately. She has recently broken out with an irritation around her mouth, and on her hands. What can I put on her to sooth those areas?? I have put some cream on her at night when she goes to sleep, but I don't dare use it durring the day since I know she'll suck on her hands right after I put it on....
