HELP WITH POKEMON PLATINUM GTS!!!?

when i get into the GTS place on pokemon platinum and go to the lady in the back and say "trade" then save and it brings me to a screen saying connecting to nitendo wfc it lasts for about 5 min then it comes to a screen saying "an error occurred while attempting to communicate please turn off the power restart this ds system and try again" ive tried like 5 times and i keep getting the same message......CAN SOMEONE HELP IM TRYING TO TRADE BUT IT WOLNT LET ME plz help
