Is it common for married couples to have seperate rooms?

a few states away? This summer I spent some time at the Jersey Shore. I really want to move there I love the beach scene, the people are very nice and hospitable the Guido's especially. But most of all I love those awesome salt water taffy treats. Since I have traveled to and fro I must add I have also gotten a few speeding tickets as Jersey requires you to drive 20 miles over the speed limit or ppl look at you funny. So I just figured to save money on traveling we should just move. Well hubby says he can't just up and leave. Its hard getting better service since he is use to his regular spot at hooters. And he said something about missing his favorite japanese meuse. I understand good service is hard to find but I keep telling him he can have that and more down at the shore. I have a couple of friends that don't sleep in the same room as there spouses is this a common practice? What should I do?
