What is Axial Mixing? (Fluids)?

Specifically two fluids at different relative speeds(i.e. flow velocity) meet (one may be stationary -the other flowing into it) and there is turbulent flow w/o laminar flow and 'axial mixing.' What is 'axial mixing'?
