I need some information on westpoint!?

Hey im a freshmen in high school and i plan on going to westpoint when i get out of school. Is it easier to get into westpoint by going enlisted and then applying or applying right after you get out of school. My mom is SFC in the army and she says that its not worth going enlisted. What academics do you take while you are in westpoint? How long do you get for vacation while you are there?
