Tell me a best freeware to create a movie using the pictures, that should run on dvd players?

I created a movie with some pictures using Nero Vision. I wrote it on a re writable cd (by default nero wrote the movie at max. speed 10X). That movie played well in my pc...but strucks in dvd players...
